Friends, how are we doing?
I’ve had such a busy start to this new year—volunteering duties, various poetry readings, non-stop happenings at my 9-5, and just trying to keep myself fed and alive. This train was chugging along fast and ahead of schedule.
My body always tells me when I’ve been overworking myself too much, and such is the case when I threw my hip out this past Monday doing yoga. Yoga! A form of exercise that I do weekly to slow myself down and reattune! This body of mine, oh she loves to keep score.
Aside from the discomfort I’m in, I weirdly feel relief that I have a solid excuse to slow down. Isn’t it a shame that we often push our bodies to their limits before the thought of taking a break even crosses our minds? Before it is valid and a priority?
I hope you’re listening to your body this week, reader. I hope you can give it extra love and care for getting you this far.
